About Mike Harder Art

“As an artist, I feel it is important to not fill in all of the information —
to leave a bit to the imagination.”
— Mike Harder

artist • painter • inspiration

Mike Harder finds his artistic inspiration in his love of sports and pop culture.

A lifelong athlete, self-proclaimed guru of sports trivia and a product of the 80s, Harder’s style has been influenced by the brilliantly colored, expressionist works of renowned artist LeRoy Neiman. The subjects of Harder’s paintings come from his uncommon perspective on the everyday experiences and symbols he embraces and values, be it a sports hero, the American flag, or a simple object interpreted with a bold, Pop Art twist.

Harder’s trademark technique of contrasting abstract with detailed imagery in brilliant colors and textures has earned him a following in his native Colorado and, in recent years, as an emerging artist in Orange County.

Before dedicating himself to art, Harder earned a Business degree from Regis University, where he played baseball. A Colorado native, Harder moved to Southern California in 2008 where he developed an affinity for the beach and surf culture, as reflected in some of his latest works.
